Here are the results from last week's matches

A team lost 4-1 at Newport A. The Newport team have now won Division 1

D team lost 3-1 at Newport B, George T was the only winner.
 

A team drew 2.5-2.5 at Newport Juniors A after wins by Rob G, Nathan J. This result means our A team stays in division 1.

B team drew at Oswestry B, 2.5-2.5 with wins by John W and Alex B. This result means our B team achieved 3rd in the 2nd Division.

C team won 3-1 at Newport Juniors C leaving our C team in 4th place in the 3rd division with 1 game to play.

Juniors beat Newport B 3.5-1.5 at home
Our Juniors also beat Shrewsbury C 4-0 away
Our D team drew with Shrewsbury C 2-2 at home.
Our Juniors are now top of Division 3.
 

Results for the weeks of the 6/4 and 13/4 are as follows

14/4: A team beat Shrewsbury A 4-1 with wins by Paul O, Rudi B and Matthew C

 

7/4: Juniors beat Newport Juniors C, 0.5-3.5, with wins by Daniel T, Ellis S and Gabriel T

 

14/4: C team beat Newport Knights 4-0 with wins by John B, Paul B and Shane S, bottom board was won on default.
 

That makes 3/3 wins for our teams, well done to all players.

B team lost to Newport Juniors B, 3.5-1.5 Good win by John Westhead, Rhys MacMillan drew.

Our A team played 3 other teams in the Rapidplay at Unison and won 1 ,drew 1 and lost 1.
 

C team drew at league 3 leaders Newport 2-2.
Mike Etchells played at the National Rapidplay championship in Peterborough and finished with a very good result of 4.5/11 and even beat a NM graded 2050.There were 228 players in only 1 section which included many GMs, IMs.
 

Dennis competed at the Bournemouth Chess congress over the weekend and scored a reasonable 3/5 points.

C : Drew with our Juniors 2-2
D : Beat Newport Knights 2.5-1.5

All to play for in div 3 as our C, Juniors and D teams are currently placed 3rd/4th and 5th

A good number of our teams have played this week:
A team in div 1 lost to Telepost A, 3.5-1.5.
Rudi, playing for the 1st time on board 1 narrowly lost to Nigel Ferrington but great win for Nathan J.
Our C team drew 2-2 with Shrewsbury C, in div 3, good wins by John B and Paul B.
Our C Rapidplay team had 2 good wins and 1 loss at Telford. First time in recent memory that a father and his 2 sons played in a team. This was George plus Daniel and Gabriel. The best score on the night was Gabriel with 3/3 wins. Ellis S made up the team with a solid win and a draw.

B team, lost 3.5 - 1.5 to league leaders Church Stretton in the 2nd Division. Stretton averaged 300 rating points higher on average for each board than our team

D team had a good draw 2-2 away at Newport Knights in the 3rd division.

Our A team had great battles at home in the Rapidplay division 1,they managed a win, a draw and a loss.
